Things You Need To Know For A Hassle-Free US Holiday

The US or United States of America (USA) is quite a popular choice for international travel. The country is home to a number of wonderful natural attractions such as the Niagara Falls, Yellowstone National Park and Grand Canyon, popular culture attractions such as Hollywood and Las Vegas, historic and cultural destinations such as New York and Washington D.C., and of course, its world famous theme parks.

As amazing as these attractions are and as cosmopolitan and welcoming as certain parts of the country can be there are still some things you should keep in mind when travelling to the US. Here are a few things that you should know to have hassle-free US holidays:

Tipping:
Make sure to carry extra cash with you to convert into one dollar bills because tips are expected everywhere. From your waiter or waitress, bus boys in hotels, cab drivers, service staff, basically anyone who provides you any kind of service is expected to be tipped. Do not make a big show of calculating your tip as it is considered quite rude.

Repeating Yourself:
A lot of Americans have problems understanding accents which are different than theirs. If you encounter this, make sure to get ready to repeat yourself everywhere you go if they don’t understand you the first time around. Indians also tend to speak quite fast which again will lead to you having to repeat yourself. Have patience, speak slowly and enunciate.

Joking About Security:
You shouldn’t be doing this anyway, but make sure to not make any off-colour jokes about security as this could land you in deep trouble during your USA tour package. Especially in airports, make sure you take all the security instructions seriously and comply with all of them. This will simplify the entire procedure and reduce the risk of any problems arising.

Using Your Mobile Phone:
The roaming rates you will incur for using your phone during your US holidays will be quite high, so use it sparingly. But more important than that you should make sure that you talk discreetly into the phone when using it in any enclosed spaces, as loud phone conversations are a mark of bad manners. Try never to answer your phone during shows and performances, better still shut it off before you enter. This will help you avoid any embarrassment during the show.

Keep these handy tips in mind and you are bound to have a wonderful time on your USA tour package!
